Children’s Action Network Holiday Wreath Party

Shawn and Larry King Host Children’s Action Network Holiday Wreath Party

Shawn and Larry King opened their home in Beverly Hills for the Children’s Action Network Holiday Wreath Party Dec. 6.

Considering the chill of the evening, more than a few guests chose warmth over holiday color and glitz in putting together their party attire. And for many women, jackets remained atop ensembles for the entire cocktail affair.

While some guests lingered beside the elegant Christmas tree in the entry, others mingled by the piano or the portrait of Larry King in jelly beans, made for him, he said, by the Jelly Belly company.

Most of the action, however, took place in the back yard, where spectacular designer wreaths were on display and available for sale in a silent auction. Also on the patio, children made their own wreaths to hang at home.

An estimated 250 guests turned up to place their bids on the exotic and artistic wreaths, decorated by noted artists and top designers, with crayons, feathers, seashells and all manner of found objects. Dawn Moore, one of the event co-hosts, stood beside designer Ron Allen’s wreath, created with her mind. She pointed to a silver bullet in the fringe, which commemorated her father, the late Clayton Moore, who starred in the 1950s TV series, “The Lone Ranger.”

More designers were Mary McDonald, star of Bravo TV’s Million Dollar Decorators; Madeline Stuart, and Windsor Smith with artists including Alison Van Pelt, Ellwood Risk, Cole Sternberg, and Norton Wisdom. Allee Willis, Lulu Powers, Tissy Eggleston and Cole Sternberg.

Also among co-hosts were Donna and Steve Antebi, Jana Basset, Christine and Gabriel Chiu, Neil Cohen, Angela Featherstone, William Fenton-Hathaway, Michele Vega and Sean Kanan, Pat Kandel, Bridget Gless Keller and Paul Keller, Linda Maglia and Nicholas Koutouras, Virginia Madsen, Leslie Mayer, Hillary Metz, Pati Miller, Kirk Nix, Barbara and Robert Patrick, Shelley Reid, Cristan and Kevin Reilly, Shannon Rotenberg, Susie and Jon Sheinberg, Anne and Robert Simonds, Maria Tanquary, Elizabeth Wiatt, Susan Woods, Cynthia Sikes Yorkin and Bud Yorkin, and Dan Zelen.

Organizers said nearly $75,000 in proceeds from tickets and wreath sales will go towards helping children in foster care to find permanent homes and loving families.
