Assistance League of Southern California Founders Day

On the Agenda for the Assistance League’s Founder’s Day: A Day of Shopping and an Entertaining Lunch

The Assistance League of Southern California’s annual Founder’s Day celebration had much to offer: a champagne reception followed by a luncheon, complete with entertainment by ALSC’s Kinderchorus and guest speaker Tom Sitton, author of “Grand Ventures – The Banning Family and the Shaping of Southern California.”

In honor of the Jan. 25 occasion, which brought together members of all ALSC auxiliaries, the league’s boutiques were open throughout the day.  Taking place at the Anne Banning Community House in Hollywood, named in honor of ALSC’s founder, members of the Mannequins auxiliary modeled fashions, jewelry, handbags, hats and more from boutiques including Ronelle Designs, The Treasured Accessory, Moonlite, Suzy O, Pegboard Highway, Designs by Georgina, Shelly’s Fashions, Jacqueline B, Jackeez & Nicolz, BToffee, Brentwood General Store and Somper.

The annual celebration commemorates Anne Banning, whose portrait hangs in the ALSC’s community house.  The Assistance League of Southern California, which Banning founded in 1919, provides social services each year to 95,000 individuals of all ages, including children, families and seniors who have critical needs.

Cheryl Van Tassel served as chairman of the Founder’s Day Celebration; Greer Saunders chaired the Founder’s Day Boutiques.
