Fran Drescher Among New Speakers Added to California Women’s Conference
Recording Stars Melissa Manchester and Helen Reddy will Open and Close Conference
The California Women’s Conference, slated for Sept. 23 – 24 at the Long Beach Convention Center, has added Fran Drescher, star of “The Nanny,” author of “Cancer Schmancer,” (an inspiration to anyone dealing with illness,) and an outspoken healthcare advocate to it’s already impressive line-up of speakers.
Also recently added were Marianne Williamson, author of “A Return to Love;” Deepak Chopra’s daughter, Mallika Chopra; and star fitness trainers Chris and Heidi Powell.
More speakers are the legendary Carol Channing, high-profile attorney Gloria Allred, fashion designer Donna Karan, relationship counselor John Gray, photographer Amanda de Cadenet, humorist Judy Carter, actors Shannon Tweed, Dorothy Lucey, Michael Learned, Rose Marie, Julie Newmar, Camryn Manheim, JoAnne Worley, Tippi Hedren, Marcia Cross, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Geri Jewell, David Misch, Mary McDonough and Judy Norton.
The Grammy Award-winning Melissa Manchester will open the conference with the debut of her new song, “Beloved,” written for the choir of the Valley State Prison for Women. She will also sing “I Know Who I Am,” which appeared in Tyler Perry’s film “For Colored Girls,” and her classic, “Whenever I Call You Friend,” which she wrote with Kenny Loggins.
And forty years after her signature tune topped the Billboard charts, the Grammy Award-winning recording icon, Helen Reddy. will close the California Women’s Conference by singing – among other songs - “I Am Woman,” the anthem of the women’s movement.

Absolutely. In fact, there are quite a few male ticket purchasers already. After all, real men support the women in their lives.- H
