Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Picnic 2012

Shailene Woodley, Sharon Stone, Gwen Stefani, and Others Help Raise $1 Million for Pediatric AIDS

Young Hollywood went picnicking June 3, when the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation held its annual “A Time for Heroes” at the Wadsworth Theatre Grounds in Los Angeles.

Shailene Woodley of “The Descendants” tried her hand at painting before changing clothes and heading for the MTV Movie Awards, where she snagged the Golden Popcorn later that same night for best Breakthrough Performance. (Good going, Shailene!)

Gwen Stefani tossed a few footballs, built cars with her children – Kingston and Zuma – and then sent the tykes speeding down the zip line.

Sharon Stone came casual, taking the opportunity to talk with the press about eradicating pediatric AIDS, before stepping into the picnic grounds and joining in the carnival games.

More than 1,000 picnickers came for the fun afternoon, which raised $1 million to fund pediatric AIDS research and prevent new infections in babies. They enjoyed sports activities, engaged in creative pursuits and feasted from a long line of food booths.

Among others were Daisy Fuentes, Carmen Electra of “Scary Movie,” Mehcad Brooks of “Necessary Roughness,” Heather McDonald of “Chelsea Lately,” Tom Arnold of “True Lies,” Oakland Raiders Quarterback Matt Leinart, Yvette Nicole Brown of “Community,” Trevor Donovan of “90210,” Geno Segers of “Pair of Kings,” Hal Sparks of “Queer as Folk,” Spencer Boldman of “21 Jump Street,” Jake Short of “Shorts,” Virginia Williams of “One Life to Live,” Kate Linder of “The Young and the Restless” and Calum Worthy of “I Was a Rat.”

More were Cassie Scerbo and Ayla Kell of “Make It or Break It,” Drake Bell of “Superhero Movie,” Katherine McNamara of “New Year’s Eve,” Katie Leclerc of “Switched at Birth,” Max Schneider of “How to Rock,” Noah Crawford of “Land of the Lost,” Stefanie Scott and Carlon Jeffery of “A.N.T. Farm,” Peyton List of “Jessie,” Spencer List of “Bereavement,” Tammin Sursok of “Pretty Little Liars,” Thomas Ian Nicholas of “American Pie,” fitness model Jodi Tiahrt, singers BC Jean and Jamar Rogers, and musician Vince Wilburn, Jr..

The day culminated in live performances by Allie Moss, Bess Rogers and Ingrid Michaelson, who sang “The Way I Am” and “Be OK,” followed by her newest single “Blood Brothers.”

Robert Iger and his wife, TV personality Willow Bay, and Heather and Steven Mnuchin served as co-chairs. Iger is chairman and chief executive of the Walt Disney Company; Steven Mnuchin is chairman and chief executive of One West Bank Group.

Major sponsors were The Walt Disney Company, 77kids by American Eagle and Jewelers for Children.
