Fast and Furious Stars Celebrate their $1 Billion Box Office

Having learned Apr. 29 that “The Fate of the Furious” had reached $1 billion dollars in box office revenues, thanks to international film-going fans, Tyrese Gibson said later that night that he, Vin Diesel and director F. Gary Gray thought the milestone worth celebrating.

Said Gibson, (a.k.a. Roman), “The director was on his way out of town for a quick vacation and I just said, ‘You know what, before you get on the plane, we’ve got to have a moment.’”

Consequently, they held a four-hour pool party at the W Hotel in Hollywood before the group broke up, in Gibson’s case to attend the Global Gourmet Games, a fundraiser for FasterCures, which kicks off the Milken Institute Global Conference,

“It was real fast and furious to get here,” Gibson said.
