Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Lady Gaga Celebrate Wins at Fox Hulu Golden Globes Party

No sooner had the Golden Globes telecast ended Jan. 10 than a mass of party-goers began streaming into the already crowded Fox/Hulu party. And no wonder: Fox emerged the night’s big winner with statuettes in major categories for “The Martian,” “The Revenant,” “Joy” and “Empire.”

“I don’t know what the measure of happiness is, but I’m off the charts tonight,” said Jim Gianopulos, chairman and chief executive of Fox Filmed Entertainment, who could hardly have seemed more pleased as he entered the Fox Pavilion at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “It’s a wonderful night, so great to see our filmmakers get the recognition they so richly deserve.”

And while I managed to exchange a few words with Leonardo DiCaprio and shake his hand as he strode from the red carpet into the ballroom, his people quickly swept him away for picture-taking with director Alejandro Inarittu. Both of them captured Golden Globes for “The Revenant,” also named best picture.

I also caught Danny Strong on his way into the shindig. Strong co-created “Empire,” whose star, Taraji P. Henson, snared a Golden Globe for best actress in a TV drama. “I was so thrilled for Teraji to win,” he said. “She’s a genius actress and very deserving.”
