June 6 – Simin Hope Foundation presents “A Celebration of All Fathers” takes place on the picturesque New York City backlot at Paramount Pictures Studios, Hollywood. June 7 – Hispanics for LA Opera “Placido Domingo Awards Dinner,” follows performances by Placido Domingo, Janai Brugger, Joshua Guerro and Maria Eugenia Antunez in an evening of Spanish Zarzuela and Latin American Music. June 8 – Chrysalis “Butterfly Ball” takes place at a magnificent private estate in Mandeville Canyon, each year featuring a star-studded guest list and top-notch entertainment. June 8 – Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County “Grand Centennial Celebration,” aka “The Party of the Century” celebrates the museum’s 100th birthday with the official opening of the museum’s spectacular new 3.5 acre Nature Garden of living wildlife; the new Nature Lab, which opens onto the garden; and new Otis Booth Pavilion with a black-tie dinner, extravagant light and sound show, music and dancing in the gardens. June 9 – The Actors Fund “Tony Awards Viewing Party,” hosted by the great Tommy Tune. While the rest of Los Angeles waits for the pre-taped 8:00 p.m. broadcast, this late party features a big-screen telecast in real time from New York of the Tony Awards. Honors “Tony’s legendary ladies:” Marissa Jaret Winokur, Cathy Rigby, Nancy Dussault, Charlotte Rae, Millicent Martin and June Lockhart with a special tribute to Anne Jeffreys. June 12 – Women In Film “Crystal + Lucy Awards” celebrates the organization’s 40th anniversary and honors Laura Linney, all the Women of “Mad Men,” i.e., Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Jessica Paré and Kiernan Shipka; plus Hailee Steinfeld, Sofia Coppola, George Lucas and Rachel Morrison. June 22 – Los Angeles Philharmonic “Season-Opening Night for the Hollywood Bowl” stars Aerosmith, Patti Austin and John Legend, and inducts Aeromith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame.
