50-plus Photos from the LA Phil Opening Rhapsody

The celebration for the LA Phil Opening Rhapsody in Blue, which took place Sept. 27 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, was so dramatically beautiful – given the 1930s supper club filled with so many women in blue to match the theme,  that we’ve expanded the photo gallery at Society News LA.

You’ll find details here of the LA Phil Opening Rhapsody in Blue and a story here from the LA Times in Culture Monstersection online.

In the gallery below, there are more than 50 photos from the Los Angeles Philarmonic’s talented photographer, Mathew Imaging, and other sources, too. They are of music legends Quincy Jones, John Williams, Wayne Shorter and David Foster;  actors Don Johnson, William Shatner and Luke MacFarlane of “Brothers and Sisters;” and more guests, among them Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Frank Gehry, Maurice Marciano, plus patrons and committee members who made the gala a success.

Joan and John Hotchkis, and David Bohnett and Tom Gregory chaired the gala committee with Eloisa Maturén Dudamel and Gigi Hancock as honorary chairs and the committee including Maria Bell, Lynn Booth, Carey Cullinane, Margaret Eberhardt, Jane Eisner, Kimberly Marteau Emerson, Lenore Greenberg, Joyce Kresa, Ginny Mancini, Soraya Sarah Nazarian, Ann Ronus, Nancy Sanders, Carla Sands, Sutton Stracke, Alan Vorwald and Alyce Williamson.
