Nov. 1 – Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Gala will honor Barry Manilow with the Heart of Hollywood Award, along with other honorees Scott Minerd, chief investment officer of Guggenheim Partners; and Stanley Black, founder of Black Equities. Proceeds will go to the Board of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center at the Cedars-Sinai Institute. Lexus, the night’s sponsor, will donate a 2013 Lexus LS 460 F Sport Sedan for a raffle that night at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. Tickets start at $500. (323) 904-4400
Nov. 1 – Lupus LA Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon offers a luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel; fashion show by Kevan Hall, whose clients have included Michelle Obama, Sharon Stone, Drew Barrymore, and more; and a silent auction of celebrity and designer handbags from top brands, including Fendi, Prada, Versace, Gucci and others. Nov. 3 – Autism Care and Treatment (ACT) Today! “Denim & Diamonds” fundraiser honors Joe Mantegna of “Criminal Minds, KCBS/KCAL president Steve Mauldin and community activist Kathleen Sternbach and includes cocktails, dinner and entertainment by singer/songwriter Brian McKnight. A star-studded affair taking place at scenic Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, the event is expected to draw Shemar Moore, Thomas Gibson and AJ Cook of “Criminal Minds,” Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould of “Modern Family;” Hunter King and Erik Braiden of “The Young and the Restless.” Vivica Fox of “Raising Hope;” Jean Smart of “Hope Springs;” Richard Gilliland of “Torchwood;” Bonnie Hunt of “Cheaper By the Dozen;” Mark Christopher Lawrence of “Chuck;” host Tom Bergeron of “Dancing with the Stars;” Erik Fellows of “Days of Our Lives;” Joey King of “Crazy, Stupid Love;” producer Vin Di Bona and others. Nov. 5 – Author Cynthia Bardes will host a special book signing and tea party to launch her new children’s book, “Pansy at the Palace.” Inspired by her poodle Pansy, adopted from an animal shelter, the book both entertains and raises awareness of The Humane Society, animal shelters and rescue organizations. Nov. 8 – 9 – Allee Willis “Ba-de-ya, Baby!,” the hit show by the Grammy, Emmy, Tony and Webby award-winner is coming to NoHoPAC (North Hollywood Performing Arts Center) for two days only. The show combines her prodigious body of work as a songwriter, live performer, visual artist, multimedia artist and iconic party thrower, celebrating her life with music, art, sing-alongs, stories, a live band, dancers and special guests, delivered with a party vibe. Nov. 13 – Women’s Guild of Cedars-Sinai Fall Gala honors Wendy Goldberg and “Blue Bloods” executive producer Leonard Goldberg with the “Hollywood Icon” Award; Goldberg, who owns Mandy Films, is a former president of Twentieth Century Fox and ABC’s head of programming. Performance by Stevie Nicks; host LL Cool J. Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Tickets start at $750. (323) 904-4400.
Nov. 24 – The National Charity League Debutante Ball, staged by the San Fernando Valley Chapter, will honor this year’s debutantes for their years of service to the charity. The young women are pictured on this page at the group’s pre-Gala Promenade event. (See names in the photo captions below.) The ball takes place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Tickets $200. Dec. 1 – Let The Kids Grow Foundation Holiday Gala honors Tyler Perry, Dwight Howard, Kirstie Alley, Usher, Nick Cannon and Romeo Miller. The black-tie celebrity dinner features entertainment and special guests still to be announced. Co-hosted by Simin Hashemizadeh and Percy “Master P” Miller. Dec. 7 – Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts Candlelight Concert will showcase the amazing two-time Tony Award-winning Sutton Foster, along with the classic pop/rock band Huey Lewis and the News. Benefiting the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, the gala evening will also include a reception, candlelight supper and dancing at Segerstrom Hall.
