35+ Photos from MOCA Luncheon Honoring Annie Leibovitz with Distinguised Women in the Arts Award, Presented by Maria Shriver
Here are more than 35 photos from the May 1 luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where former First Lady of California Maria Shriver presented Annie Leibovitz with the Distinguished Women in the Arts Award from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Photos in the gallery below show many of the artists, celebrities and arts patrons who came to fete Leibovitz. Also, to the left, is one of Leibovitz’s self-portraits, taken at Plano, IL in 2011.
Artists on hand included Barbara Kruger, Betye Saar, Rosson Crow, Amanda Ross-Ho, Rebecca Morris, Alexandra Grant and Catherine Opie. Among other guests were actors Abigail Spencer of “Cowboys & Aliens,” Lisa Edelstein of “House M.D.,” Lori Loughlin of “Summerland,” Marisa Tomei of “The Wrestler,” Rosanna Arquette of “Pulp Fiction” and Daphne Zuniga of “Melrose Place;” fashion designers Amber Sakai and Monique Lhullier; and model Liberty Ross.
Marla Diamond and Carole Kopple served as luncheon co-chairs with Barbara Eskowitz, Gale Goldring, Teri Hertz and Sandra Rosenbaum on the event committee. Luncheon benefactors also included Maria Arena Bell, Barbara Belzberg, Carolyn Bloom, Kevin Burke, Christine and Gabriel Chiu, Louise Epstein, Susan Gersh, Marcia Harrow, Sydney Holland, David G. Johnson, Alice Lainer, Francine Light, Marcy Miller, Rachel Mumford, Lois G. Rosen, Eugene Sadovoy, Jennifer Schwab-Wangers, Gilena Simons, Pamela J. Smith, Sutton and Christian Stracke, and Pamela West. MOCA’s Projects Council presented the event.
