Placido Domingo and Friends Gala

Placido Domingo and Friends Gala Brings Natalie Cole, Opera Stars and Supporters Onstage Together

If anyone has an abundance of friends, it’s Placido Domingo, the Los Angeles Opera’s general director.

And so on Nov. 19, to conclude the LA Opera’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the opera superstar brought an abundance of friends  – opera stars and opera supporters alike – onstage together at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles for the Placido Domingo and Friends Gala – a glittering evening of music, dining and dancing.

More than 250 guests enjoyed the glamorous black-tie soiree, co-chaired by Sherry Lansing, Kelly Day and Eva Chow, which raised nearly $800,000 and took place amid the distinctive scenery and sparkling crystal chandeliers of this season’s critically-acclaimed production of “Romeo and Juliet.”

Performing along with Placido Domingo were Placido Domingo Jr., Natalie Cole and opera singers Charles Castronovo, Ana Maria Martinez, Maria Grazia Schiavo, Angela Meade and Ekaterina Siurina.
