Rosa Loy Convocation Opens to a Big Crowd of Artists and Collectors

Artists, collectors, curators and other VIPs gathered Jan. 13 at the Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles to celebrate the opening of Convocation, a solo show by German artist Rosa Loy.  A private dinner followed at the nearly restaurant Lucques.

There to fete Loy and her husband, fellow artist Neo Rauch, were yet more artists, including Ed Ruscha, Danny First, Dennis Hollingsworth, Camille Rose Garcia, Mark Ryden and Marion Peck, Case Simmons and Andrew Burke, and Joe Goode with his wife Hiromi.

Also joining Michael Kohn and gallery director Samantha Glaser were collection curators Joanne Heyler and Thao Nguyen, plus art collectors and enthusiasts Rosette Delug, Pamela West, Cliff Fong, Jennifer Simchowitz, David Morehouse, Mike Healy, Sarah Jane Bruce, Benedikt Taschen, Peter Benedek, Lara and Dan Dubiecki, Mandy and Cliff Einstein, Jenny and Jason Biggs, and many more.

Reflecting the climate of post-unification Germany, Loy’s work has also been shown in solo exhibitions throughout Germany, including the Städtische Museen Zwickau, the Kunstverein der Stadt Backnang and both the Kunstverein Elsterpark and VEAG Förderpreis für Kunst in Leipzig.

The Rosa Loy Convocation show will remain at the Michael Kohn Gallery through Feb. 25. For further information, call 323 658 8088 or click here
