Teatro alla Moda Extended in Beverly Hills
Good News: Teatro alla Moda Extended in Beverly Hills
No wonder “Teatro alla Moda” has been extended once again. As I wrote back in October, the exhibition in Beverly Hills of 80 theater costumes, sketches and drawings by Italy’s top high fashion designers is breathtaking.
Presented by The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, this will be the exhibition’s second extension. Consequently, the costumes will remain on view until Mar. 18. Included in the collection are spectacular creations by Giorgio Armani, Roberto Capucci, Enrico Coveri, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti, Romeo Gigli, Antonio Marras, Missoni, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino and Gianni Versace, whose jeweled, hand-detailed, multi-layered costumes for “Capriccio,” “The Firebird,” and other operas have their own special room.
According to Lou Moore, the Center’s executive director, the exhibition has been extended due to overwhelming community response, which has resulted not only in repeat visitors, but also visitors who return with family and friends.
The exhibition can be seen at MGM Place at 253 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills. Click here to see more pictures and to read my original story about the Teatro all Moda exhibition, written in conjunction with a visit by the Costume Council of the Los Angeles Museum of Art.
