As the sounds of rock music permeated the air, partygoers danced between the sofas at the Weinstein Co./Netflix shindig, which took place in a tent beside the Beverly Hilton Hotel Jan. 10, just after the Golden Globes ended.

A few more words: Most years I haven’t been inclined to leave the post-Golden Globes Weinstein/ Netflix party because no matter where the stars start out, most come trooping through this party before the evening ends.

Aside from the opportunity to rub elbows with Hollywood insiders, there have always been goodies to draw everyone in. This year, aside from makeup touch-ups, party-goers could also indulge in Lindt chocolates, Moet Champagne and Fiji Water at a bar beside the VIPs.

This year, however, the party started off quietly, partly because word had it that the after-party-only people got stuck in a 2-hour queue while awaiting the hotel shuttle, and partly because so many of us made an immediate bee-line to the FOX party, where we figured the best picture winners would soon arrive.

And sure enough, there was plenty of action at the Weinstein/ Netflix after-party when we returned, as the casts of “Carol,” “The Hateful Eight,” “Orange is the New Black” and others in the Weinstein/ Netflix family not only remained, but were also joined by an up-and-dancing crowd.

Moreover, speaking of “The Hateful Eight,” I had the opportunity to speak with Jennifer Jason Leigh and considering how badly her character is treated through the film, I found her enthusiasm about the role beyond surprising. Apparently Quentin Tarantino’s set must really be “magical,” as she put it.

More stars who filed in included Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Ricky Gervais, Mark Ruffalo, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Ben Mendelsohn, Walton Groggins, Andy Samberg, Aziz Ansari, Jonah Hill, Chris Tucker, Morgan Freeman, Mira Sorvino, Zendaya Coleman, Kate Bosworth and Malin Akerman.

Yet more were Damian Lewis, Mark Rylance, Helen Mirren, Gillian Anderson, Heidi Klum, Jaime King, Jamie Foxx, Corinne Foxx, Michelle Monaghan, Bella Thorne, Angela Bassett and Katherine Schwarzenegger, besides of course, Harvey Weinstein of The Weinstein Company and Ted Sarandos of Netflix.

Party sponsors were DeLeon Tequila, Laura Mercier, Lindt Chocolate, Marie Claire, Hearts on Fire and Fiji Water.
