Children’s Action Network and Westside Children’s Center Benefit from Wine Women and Shoes Los Angeles

More than 300 fashionistas breezed into the breathtaking Santa Monica home of Heather Thomas and Hollywood power attorney Skip Brittenham to support the inaugural “Wine Women and Shoes” in Los Angeles. The evening’s festivities benefitted Children’s Action Network and Westside Children’s Center.

Guests strolled through a maze of magnificently appointed displays surrounding the swimming pool and gardens, which featured shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories, bearing such sought-after labels as PRADA, Judith Leiber, Christian Louboutin, Valentino, Jimmy Choo and Liebeskind/Berlin, with many pieces passed on silver trays as though they were haute hors d’oeuvres.  With a portion of sales earmarked for the charities, the two causes received $175,000 between them.

Lea Thompson of “Switched at Birth” made a beeline for shoes by designer Dana Davis, snagging two pairs of the hot designer’s signature pumps, while the designer’s mother, Barbara Davis, looked on with pride.

Catherine Bach, the original Daisy Duke of “The Dukes of Hazzard,” made a point of showing off her slim figure in a pair of her own soon-to-be-on-the-market designer jeans, bearing the patriotic moniker “Made in America.”

Among other guests poised to shop until they dropped – for good causes, of course – were Lu Parker of “The Green Hornet,” Jena King and her husband TV syndication exec Michael King, British Countess Juilette Ouvaroff, NJ Goldston of “The Blonde and the Brunette,” Tobey Cotson-Victor, Robin Broidy, Amanda Garrigus, Dagney Dubelko, Elyse Walker, Wendy Moss Klein and Dahlia Merhi.

Carla Du Manoir, Stacey Lynn Kohl and Patricia Penske chaired the Mar. 21 event, alongside committee members Pam Baron, Christine Chiu, Bettina Duval, Michele Dominick, Jennifer Eidinger, Teresa Fourticq, Layna Friedman, Elisabeth Giovine, Adrienne Grant, Risa Green, Laura Hein, Sally Horchow, Kathy Kendrick, Alexandra Kimball, Lisa Klingenberg, Christine Lahti, Shelley Litvack, Leslie Mayer, Lisa Pongracic, Shelley Reid, Beth Roberts, Shiva Rose, Susie Sheinberg, Tobey Cotsen Victor, Dana Walden, Sheila Walker, Leslie Weinberg Hyman and Christina Zilber.

Some of the city’s finest restaurants and their celebrated chefs provided the non-stop savory bites. There were Kimmy Tang’s 9021PHO chicken pho with rice noodles; Celestino Drago’s grilled ham and cheese mini-sandwiches; Dakota Weiss of 930’s lobster morsels on a bed of semolina; and BOUCHON Bakery’s sweets.  More treats came from Ford Filling Station’s Ben Ford, The Palm, Rockenwagner Bakery, An Catering + Tiato, and Hamasaku.  Charles Krug, Greggo Cellars, Peju Winery, St. Supery, Landy Family Vineyards, Old Bridge Cellars and Collier Falls provided the wines.
